Description

Bacon Wrapped Asparagus Bundles are a delightful combination of crispy bacon and tender asparagus. They make a versatile dish, perfect for holiday dinners, casual meals, or as an elegant appetizer. With a simple garlic and olive oil seasoning, these bundles are easy to prepare and sure to impress with their savory and slightly sweet flavors.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 bunch of fresh asparagus (trimmed, woody ends removed)
  • 810 slices of thin-cut bacon
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Optional: 1 tablespoon brown sugar (for a sweet-savory twist)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  2. Prepare the Asparagus: Wash and trim the asparagus, snapping off the woody ends. Divide the asparagus spears into bundles of 3–5 spears each, depending on their thickness.
  3. Season the Asparagus: In a small bowl, mix olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Brush the mixture over the asparagus spears to coat them evenly.
  4. Wrap with Bacon: Wrap each asparagus bundle with a slice of bacon, starting from the bottom and spiraling upwards. Secure the bacon ends with toothpicks if needed.
  5. Optional Sweet Touch: If using brown sugar, sprinkle it over the bacon-wrapped bundles for a caramelized glaze as they bake.
  6. Bake: Arrange the bundles on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them out to ensure even cooking. Bake in the preheated oven for 20–25 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy and the asparagus is tender.
  7. Serve: Remove from the oven, discard toothpicks if used, and serve immediately.
